We are thrilled to present a festive edition of our new music night Fresh Catch 6: X-Mas Special, featuring three bands from our region who are pushing to the next level of their musical careers: Jaz Beeson, Elson, and Special Guests TBC.

Brooding, soft, and dreamy - Jaz Beeson has floated into her new ‘Petrol Receipts’ era with ease. For fans of Charli Adams, Lucy Dacus and nostalgic MTV guitar pop. Layered guitars, bags of ethereal vocals and a lyrical rawness that grounds the three describe her record well. Jaz’s new EP delves into the yearning and nostalgia of turning your back on everything you know.

Elson is Owen Kimble, Kieran Pykett, and Owen Armitage, a three-piece alternative band from the small but very loud fishing town of Grimsby. Their immediate pop sensibility and influence from post-punk and shoegaze genres, along with their admiration for experimental sounds, make for an intriguing and unexpected listen. Whilst exploring a sound reminiscent of early '90s Brit-rock, they leave behind the laddish attitude of their predecessors.

Fresh Catch is all about giving people the opportunity to hear new artists when they’re starting out or to catch a band from another part of the country that is on the up. It’s an awesome feeling to stand back knowing you’ve been there from their first shows and witnessed their growth into a recognised talent in the music industry.

Fresh Catch is a Docks Academy project which has successfully secured funding from Arts Council England. This vital funding helps us deliver on our commitment to support emerging artists, develop grassroots music at Docks Academy, build our youth audience, and improve accessibility.

Early Bird Tickets are available now, priced at £4 + Fees. Advance Tickets are priced at £5 + Fees. The age requirement for this event is 14 plus (U18s to be accompanied).

Our ticket sales are handled by Seetickets.com. Seetickets’ policy is that all tickets are non-refundable unless, during the checkout process, you pay extra to protect your tickets. In this event, you may be able to claim a refund from Seetickets, if your reason for cancellation is covered by their terms and conditions. Docks Academy is unable to process refunds in all circumstances. Please note this event is for people aged 14 and over. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Anyone aged under 14 will be refused admission and no refunds will be issued for tickets purchased for under 14s, whether or not ticket protection has been paid for.
